It is our family tradition that there is a party on the morning of each of our girlies birthdays. To be on the guest list, your last name must be Antholz and you must be a resident on Sheridan Boulevard. Before anyone gets dressed, combs their hair or brushes their teeth, we gather in the kitchen surrounded by birthday balloons. We light candles. We sing Happy Birthday. We eat cookie cake for breakfast. We open family gifts.
Today we celebrate our first born baby girl. The one who requested a princess and a unicorn on this year’s cookie cake. The one who moved to her own room when she started Kindergarten, but still sleeps in her old room with her little sister because “Sutty is afraid of the dark and scared to sleep alone.” The one who’s only non-negotiable for this year’s birthday party was that it be a costume party. The one who walked out of school a couple of weeks ago, said she knew how to tie her shoes and bent down and tied them. The one who only requested one gift from her parents on her birthday—the Barbie Princess Charm School movie. The one who stole her mommy’s and daddy’s hearts six years ago and has held them captive ever since.
Happy Birthday, Emerson Jules! We can't wait to add a photo of #6 below. Love You. Proud of You.
