This picture was taken shortly after the infamous haircutting incident of 2010--notice the pixie cut. Can't recall if I blogged about that or not, but just in case I didn't here's the gist. Emme and Sutty were playing quietly in Eastyn's room, which should have been the first indication that something was up. Emme came bopping down the stairs and said loudly, "Sutty come show Grandma your bob." Grandma thought Emme had pulled Sutty's hair back into a pony tail, but realized in short order that Emme had truly given Sutty a haircut. Yikes! A couple of days later we realized that Sutty wasn't the only one who got a haircut that day... Emme had also taken a chunk out of the side of her hair and ended up with a shoulder length do.

Sutton
I came across this picture of Sutton from the UNL Homecoming parade last fall... Love it! Love her! It's amazing how quickly they grow.

Dodgeball Kind of Day
Some days are hopscotch kind of days, some days are getting-nailed-at-dodgeball kind of days. --Unknown
So yesterday for me was one of those days... I drove my sweet minivan home for lunch, but couldn't drive it back. Why you ask? Because I ran into the house, shredded my front passenger side tire and cranked loose something that was on the underside of the van. Yes, you read that all correctly. Yikes!
Sorry folks. No pictures for this post. Now I sort of wish that I would have snapped a couple of pics at the scene of the accident; however, at the time I was just a tad out of my element. OK, I was totally in tears.
Through it all the hubs was a gem. He arranged to have the car towed, talked with the body shop, called our insurance guy, etc., etc. He even managed not to laugh until the evening after the kiddos were snug in their beds and we were replaying the days events. I'm a lucky gal!
Thankfully today is a new day... hopefully a hopscotch kind of day :-)
PS - In case you were wondering the house is fine. That's actually the first question Travis asked. As the man trying to connect our alarm system put it, "This house isn't going anywhere EVER. It's like a bomb shelter"--brick exterior with cement walls. So maybe the brick, cement combo does come in handy!
